Author BIO

Dr. Cornelius D. Jones is a distinguished American author specializing in social philosophy. Born in Grenada, MS, he moved to the metro Atlanta, GA area at 15 years old. After dropping out of high school, he attended the Schenck Job Corps in Brevard, NC, before transferring to the Jacobs Creek Job Corps, where he earned his GED. He has since completed multiple graduate and post-graduate degree programs, earning the title of Dr. Jones.

Cornelius enlisted in the United States Navy in October 2000, following the USS Cole bombing. He served honorably from 2000 to 2018, including multiple deployments during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom in support of the Global War on Terrorism.

Before embarking on his writing career, he released his first book as an independent author in 2010 while still on active duty. His books, at first, were more self-help focused and aimed at encouraging others to identify ways to improve their own circumstances.

In 2020, he began focusing more on his writing to address social issues. Over four years, from August 2020 to June 2024, he wrote and published nine books. Eight of his nine publications achieved bestseller status, with four achieving the notable distinction of being #1 bestsellers. In 2022, the Friends of Brentwood Library in Jacksonville, FL, honored Cornelius for his literary accomplishments and advocacy for literacy. During a public ceremony, he was awarded the James Weldon Johnson Prestigious Award.

After a two-year hiatus, he resumed his writing endeavors in 2024. On February 9, 2024, he published "War on Black: America's Dark History that Can't be Erased." It swiftly gained traction, marking his third #1 New Release. This critically acclaimed book garnered him recognition as an honoree from the International Book Awards, sponsored by the American Book Fest. He also received the 2024 Independent Author Award from the Literary Global Book Awards.

Dedicated to showcasing the positive impact of Black fathers, he collaborated with a group of trusted colleagues to author a book on this vital subject. On June 12, 2024, he announced the release of his fourth #1 New Release, "A Father's Love: Paternal Affection Through Lived Experiences."

On September 5th, 2025, He was honored with a Quilly Award during his induction into the National Academy of Bestselling Authors in Beverly Hills, CA.
